About

Magnus Hägglund

Background

Magnus was born and raised in Sundsvall, Sweden. He started playing saxophone at age 10 and drums at age 12.

After high school Magnus moved to the city of Piteå in the nordic parts of Sweden to attend Framnäs Folkhögskola. Two years of self exploring and practising followed before applying to college and HSM in Gotheburg.

In 2008 he was accepted to do an exchange year at the Royal Academy of music in London. It turned out to be a very awarding experience, both musically and in a life perspective.

Magnus does a lot of gigs both on saxophone and drums and has had the great honour to performed with both Swedish and Internationell artists such as:  Friendly Fires (UK), Swedish Saxophone legend Lasse Hörnfeldt, Claes Jansson, Kjell Öhman, Karl Olandersson, ”Lill-Babs”, Magnus Johansson, among others...

Magnus is a often hired ”side man” and available for recording sessions and live gigs. Just give him a call.
